The crew of The Sea Wolf entered the exhibition match, where they saw an imposing creature. She introduced herself as High Priestess Nyx. From the demeanor of Gaius and the Red Robed Cultist, it was clear that she was the leader of the Cult of the Comet. It also became clear that the Ashen Wing was deferential to the Cult of the Comet.

Almost at once, the fight began.

In the ring was the Berserker, and a Naga. The group split up without finalizing a plan (despite having discussed one days earlier). Some went to get a better view, some went to get pickles. Oryx Valeshade was picking pockets, and Castus Wolfe chose to stay put and interrogate Nyx telepathically.

Eventually, the brawl became too much for Newt and Pippin Tangletoes to watch idly— they jumped into the ring and began to help the naga.

They all fought hard, and they noticed there was a stranger who seemed to be helping them. Or at least targeting the cultists…

At one point, Huckleberry tied a strand of Nyx’s scrolls to the immovable rod, but was then forced to aid the Naga. Nyx was hit by the stranger’s magic missiles, and similarly vexed by Castus dispelling her magic. Like a coward she vanished, before the fight was over. The Berserker was brought down in a group effort, with lots of grappling.

The group finally had the chance to meet the stranger who had been fighting alongside them. She was an Owlin Wizard who introduced herself as Echo Dawn Silvertail of Feather-Hoot. Echo explained how she had been hunting down the Cult for awhile and was set on stopping them. She asked if she might be able to join the party, and was welcomed instantly.

Since the crowd had dispersed already— and Gaius/ the Red Robed Cultist were dead— the Naga was the only creature remaining. Much debate about whether to kill it or not followed. In the end, they mostly all agreed that it was evil and would hurt the nearby people. It didn’t help the Naga’s case that while the party was debating its fate, it was busy scarfing down dead bodies (and making an absolutely disgusting sound that almost made Huckleberry sick to boot). Pippin tried to use the Berserker’s Sword of Pity to finish it, but it was too large to wield. Finally, Huckleberry grabbed the sword and ended the Naga (at least temporarily) with one swing.

The party found two cards from the Deck of Many Things, and a piece of Nyx Scroll.jpg.

The party leveled up. They still need to decide what to do with the Deck of Many Things cards left to them (and other items):
